| the route |
Our route through the New Forest explores some
of the area's best features, whether you just want
a relaxing ride, or stop off along the way. |
 |
Lyndhurst, the "capital"
of the Forest, is a lovely
little village, with charming shops and galleries
and delicious teashops. If you are arriving by
train, Brockenhurst has
good connections from
London, Bournemouth,
Southampton and the
Midlands. |
 |
|
 |
And with its elegant Georgian buildings, good
shops and cobbled quay, Lymington has is own
unique atmosphere - with a distinctly nautical tilt. |
 |
 |
But it's the natural displays
which make this such a
magical place to visit: the
open stretches of heath, the
dense woodland and the
wealth of flora and fauna
which thrill any time of day,
any day of the year. |
|
| |
The tour also passes through Beaulieu - don't
miss the National Motor Museum, or historic
Beaulieu Palace and Abbey. Nearby, Exbury
Gardens produce a riot of colour, whatever the
time of year - as well as the opportunity to take
a ride on their 12" gauge steam railway through
part of the gardens - great fun! |
